The sweet and savory flavor of teriyaki sauce adds zip to these burgers. The sauce also makes a delicious spread for the buns and is a tasty a dipping sauce for shrimp cocktail.

Ingredients

Uncooked 93% lean ground turkey

1¼ pound(s)

Teriyaki sauce

¼ cup(s)

Scallions

¼ cup(s), chopped, chopped

Cilantro

2 Tbsp, chopped

Egg whites

1 large

Fresh ginger

1 Tbsp, peeled, minced

Jarred minced garlic

1 Tbsp

Dark sesame oil

1 tsp

Scallions

8 medium, trimmed and left whole

Light hamburger bun

Instructions

  1. Mix turkey, teriyaki sauce, chopped scallions, cilantro, egg white, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil in medium bowl just until combined. With damp hands, form mixture into 4 (¾-inch-thick) patties.
  2. Spray ridged grill pan with nonstick spray and set over medium heat. Add patties and whole scallions and cook, turning patties once and turning scallions occasionally, until instant-read thermometer inserted into side of patties registers 165°F and scallions are tender, about 10 minutes.
  3. Serve burgers in buns topped with scallions.
  4. Serving size: 1 burger
