Steak with Tomato Salsa

This festive salsa can be made even more colorful by using a variety of tomatoes—heirloom, yellow, orange, plum and many more.
fresh cherry tomato(es)1 cup(s), or grape tomatoes, quartered
uncooked onion(s)½ medium, red, chopped
jalapeño pepper(s)1 medium, minced
fresh lime juice1 Tbsp
cilantro¼ cup(s), chopped
cooked corn kernels½ cup(s)
table salt¼ tsp
garlic clove(s)2 clove(s), medium
table salt½ tsp
ground cumin½ tsp
black pepper¼ tsp
uncooked lean trimmed sirloin beef1 pound(s), cut 1-inch thick
- Preheat broiler.
- Combine tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, lime juice, cilantro, corn and 1/4 teaspoon salt and set aside.
- Smash garlic and salt with side of knife to make a paste; add cumin and pepper. Spread over steak.
- Broil until medium-rare, 7 minutes per side. Serve topped with salsa.
