Six ingredients and ready in just 25 minutes, these Chinese-inspired wraps are filled with spicy turkey sausage, crunchy water chestnuts, rich almonds and briny soy sauce. Simple ingredients all come together in cool and crisp lettuce leaves for a clean feeling meal that totally satisfies. Serve with a side of grilled or steamed veggies to complete the plate. Sensitive to spice? No worries! Choose a mild turkey sausage or sweet variety. Either will pair well with the other ingredients for a wonderful dish.

Ingredients

Uncooked turkey sausage

1 pound(s), casings removed

Dried seasoning mix

1 Tbsp

Canned water chestnuts

8 oz, drained and diced

Slivered almonds

½ cup(s), toasted

Soy sauce

3 Tbsp

Lettuce

8 piece(s), use large iceberg leaves

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage in a nonstick skillet, breaking it up as it cooks, about 8 minutes. Stir in spiced seasoning mix, water chestnuts, almonds and soy sauce; heat for 1 minute.
  2. To eat, spoon 1/2 cup sausage mixture onto a lettuce leaf. Wrap envelope-style and enjoy. Yields 2 wraps per serving.
