Sausage, sweet onion, and pepper pasta

Ingredients
Uncooked penne pasta
1 oz, or cavatappi
Olive oil
1 tsp
Yellow bell pepper
1 medium, sliced
Sweet onion
½ medium, sliced
Cooked chicken sausage
3 oz, sliced
Grape tomatoes
½ cup(s), halved
Garlic
1 clove(s), minced
Grated Parmesan cheese
½ Tbsp
Instructions

Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Scoop out and reserve ¼ cup pasta cooking water, then drain pasta.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high. Add the bell pepper, onion, and sausage to the pan; sauté 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the tomatoes and garlic; sauté until the tomatoes soften, 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the pasta and the reserved ¼ cup pasta water; cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
