We spruced-up bottled teriyaki sauce to make a super-easy, super-flavorful salmon recipe that's great over a rice bowl, a bed of greens, or as part of a multi-dish Japanese meal.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

4 spray(s)

Teriyaki sauce

¼ cup(s)

Fresh ginger

1 tsp, peeled and grated

Garlic powder

½ tsp

Uncooked salmon

20 oz, 4 (5-oz) fillets

Sesame seeds

½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a small sheet pan with foil and coat the foil with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, ginger, and garlic powder; set aside 1 ½ tbsp of the sauce. Arrange the salmon on the prepared pan; brush the remaining sauce evenly over the fish. Bake until the fish flakes easily with a fork or to the desired degree of doneness. Drizzle the reserved 1 ½ tbsp sauce over the salmon; sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
  3. Serving size: 1 salmon fillet

Notes

Opt for a teriyaki sauce with some body to it so it will cling better to the fish; preferably choose one with a thickness similar to vinaigrette (some brands are thin like soy sauce).
