With 7 grams of protein per ¼-cup serving, this easy 5-ingredient, ZeroPoint dip is one that’s bound to become a staple. It’s great served at room temperature or cold, and it holds well in the fridge for up to 5 days. It’s important when making it that you allow the lentil mixture to cool before adding the yogurt; if you stir in the dairy while the mixture is hot, the dip will become soupy.

Ingredients

Dried red lentils

1 cup(s)

Garlic

2 clove(s)

Kosher salt

¾ tsp

Ground cumin

½ tsp

Plain fat free Greek yogurt

cup(s)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the lentils and 2 cups water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer until the water is absorbed and the lentils are tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. With a food processor running, drop the garlic through the food chute and process until finely chopped. Add the lentils, salt, and cumin; process until smooth. Spoon the lentil mixture into a large bowl. Let stand until room temperature, 20 to 30 minutes. Stir in the yogurt.
  3. Serving size: ¼ cup

Notes

Serve with pita chips and/or fresh vegetable strips.
