This beautiful, easy to make cranberry sauce features all the delicious flavors of the classic with a citrusy twist. You won't even have to whip out a single pot or pan or turn on the stove; the relish comes together in the food processor. All you have to do is pulse the orange zest, orange pieces, jalapeño, sugar, cranberries, and walnuts until the ingredients are chopped and well combined. The best part is, especially if you're hoping to serve it as a festive side for a holiday meal, you can let it hang out in the fridge for 2 days, and dish it out chilled or at room temperature for even more convenience.

Ingredients

orange zest

2 Tbsp, finely grated

orange(s)

1 medium, peeled, seeded, coarsely chopped

jalapeño pepper(s)

1 medium, cored, seeded, chopped

sugar

cup(s)

fresh cranberries

12 oz, or frozen (about 3 c)

walnut(s)

¼ cup(s), halves

kosher salt

¼ tsp, coarse, or to taste

black pepper

1 pinch, freshly ground, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Place zest, orange and jalapeño in bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade; pulse until finely chopped. Add sugar and cranberries; continue to pulse until berries are coarsely chopped.
  2. Add walnuts; pulse to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Allow relish to chill for at least 30 minutes, and up to 2 days. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
  3. Serving size: 1/4 c
