If you look up recipes for bubble up pizza, undoubtedly the majority of them will start with canned biscuits. This recipe, on the other hand, leans a little leaner because it begins with our two-ingredient dough made from self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. We add more flavor by stirring garlic powder and black pepper into the flour before forming the dough. Small balls of dough go into a cast-iron skillet, where they’re blanketed with cheese, pepperoni, and olives. As the biscuit dough rises and the cheesy topping melts, you end up with something akin to a deep-dish pizza.

Ingredients

White self-rising flour

1.5 cup(s)

Garlic powder

1 tsp

Black pepper

0.5 tsp

Plain fat free Greek yogurt

1.25 cup(s)

Cooking spray

5 spray(s)

Jarred fat-free marinara sauce

1 cup(s)

Part skim mozzarella cheese

5 oz

Small canned black ripe olive(s)

4 Tbsp

Turkey pepperoni

1.5 oz

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, garlic powder, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Add yogurt; stir well with a wooden spoon until just combined and then keep mixing dough in bowl with your hands until smooth (about 2 minutes of kneading).

2

Spray a 10-inch cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet with cooking spray. Roll dough into 1-tablespoon balls and arrange in a single layer in pan (it’s ok if there are some open spaces in pan). Spoon marinara sauce evenly over dough balls. Sprinkle about two-thirds of cheese over dough balls. Top with olives and pepperoni and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 375°F until dough is done and cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown, about 30 minutes.
