Here’s a dessert that’s perfect for a summer night when you don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen.
Ingredients

nectarine(s)

2 medium, halved and pitted

sugar

4 tsp, granulated

Instructions

  1. Position oven rack 4 to 6 inches from broiler element, and preheat broiler.
  2. Place nectarines, cut-side up, on a lipped baking sheet; sprinkle 1 teaspoon sugar over each nectarine. Broil until sugar caramelizes, about 2 minutes. Serving size: 1/2 nectarine.
Notes
Watch the nectarines carefully as they broil —elements heat at different temperatures, and the fruit can burn quickly under an intense blaze. If desired, serve nectarine halves with a little lowfat sour cream; spread it in a little puddle on the plate before setting a nectarine half in the center of it.
