It takes just minutes to elevate the flavor of traditional Italian bread with the addition of garlic, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese and sage. Olive oil cooking spray replaces the traditional olive oil and butter and makes this recipe much crisper. Enjoy a classic pairing by serving the cheese toasts with tomato soup. Or serve this bread with your favorite Italian dish such as pasta, lasagna or eggplant Parmesan. This recipe prepares enough for one so you can make as many slices as you need.

Italian bread
2 slice(s), light
Jarred minced garlic
½ tsp
Garlic salt
¼ tsp
Shredded part skim mozzarella cheese
⅓ cup(s)
Shredded parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp
Fresh sage
½ tsp, minced (optional)
Olive oil cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Lightly spray both sides of bread slices with olive-oil nonstick spray. Sprinkle one side of each bread slice evenly with garlic and garlic salt. Top evenly with mozzarella and Parmesan.

Place bread on medium baking sheet and bake until cheeses melt, 2–3 minutes. Sprinkle evenly with sage (if using) and serve at once.
