Change the fruits in this salad based on what’s in season. The shallot takes the salad in a savory direction, but if you’d like to serve it as a fresh finish to a meal, you can leave it out.

Ingredients

Cumin seeds

1 tsp

Cantaloupe

1 medium, peeled, seeded, and cubed

Mango(es)

1 item(s), pitted, peeled, and cubed

Grapefruit(s)

1 small, pink or red variety, peeled and sectioned

Fresh raspberries

1 cup(s), (1/2 pint)

Uncooked shallot(s)

1 small, minced

Fresh lime juice

1 Tbsp

Table salt

¼ tsp

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat small dry skillet over low heat. Add cumin and toast, shaking pan often, until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Transfer seeds to small plate; cool about 5 minutes.
  2. 2 Combine cantaloupe, mango, grapefruit, and raspberries in serving bowl. Add cumin, shallot, lime juice, and salt; gently toss to coat.
  3. Serving size: (1 1/4 cups)
