Coach Cassidy adds these crispy, “cheesy,” garlicky chickpeas to salads and grain bowls, and grabs them when she’s looking for a protein-packed snack on-the-go. The key to getting these really crunchy is the two-step air frying process. Experiment with different flavor profiles: Try crushed red pepper flakes, curry powder, seasoned salt, or even WW's Everything Bagel seasoning (that comes in the 2-Ingredient Dough Bagel Kit).

Ingredients

Canned chickpeas

15½ oz, rinsed, drained, and patted dry

Cooking spray

2 spray(s)

Nutritional yeast

1 tsp

Garlic salt

¼ tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 300℉, if necessary. Spread chickpeas in a single layer in air fryer basket, and air fry, turning once, until very dry, about 14 minutes. Increase temperature to 400℉.
  2. Transfer chickpeas to a medium bowl, and lightly coat with cooking spray. Toss with nutritional yeast and garlic salt. Return to basket and spread in an even layer.
  3. Air fry until golden brown and crispy, 3 to 4 minutes. Let cool slightly (they will continue to crisp).
  4. Serving size: about ¼ cup
