This family-friendly restaurant dish is easy to recreate at home. The key is to use a cast-iron skillet to char the steak and the pepper-onion mix.

1
Coat a large cast-iron skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high. Coat the steak evenly with 1 tbsp fajita seasoning, then with cooking spray, and add to the skillet. Cook 5 to 6 minutes per side for medium-rare or to desired degree of doneness. Remove the steak to a cutting board and let stand for 10 minutes; cut across the grain into thin slices.

Meanwhile, add the bell peppers and onion to the skillet; cover and cook on medium-high until lightly charred and crisp tender, 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in ¼ cup water and the remaining 1 tbsp fajita seasoning.
