Turn this delicious spiced-up chicken into a complete meal by serving it with corn on the cob and thick slices of juicy tomato.

Ingredients

Panko breadcrumbs

¼ cup(s), whole-wheat variety

All-purpose flour

2 Tbsp

Dried rosemary

1 tsp

Dried sage

1 tsp

Table salt

Black pepper

Cayenne pepper

1% low fat buttermilk

Uncooked skinless boneless chicken drumstick

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line the broiler pan with foil.
  2. Mix together the panko, flour, rosemary, sage, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a large shallow bowl. Pour the buttermilk into another bowl. Dip the drumsticks, one at a time, into the buttermilk mixture, then roll in the panko mixture to coat evenly.
  3. Spray the chicken with nonstick spray and place in the broiler pan. Bake until crispy and cooked through, about 25 minutes.
