Broiled Grapefruit with Mango-Honey Glaze

Ingredients

Mango nectar

3 Tbsp, or apricot nectar

Honey

2 Tbsp

Ground ginger

¼ tsp

Grapefruit

2 small, pink variety, halved horizontally

Instructions

  1. Stir together mango nectar, honey, and ginger in cup.
  2. With small serrated knife or grapefruit knife, cut around grapefruit halves to separate flesh from peel. Cut between each membrane to loosen sections, but leave sections in shells; discard any seeds.
  3. Preheat broiler. Place grapefruit halves on broiler rack; drizzle with nectar mixture. Broil grapefruit about 5 inches from heat until glaze begins to caramelize, about 3 minutes.
  4. Serving size: 1/2 grapefruit

Notes

Allowing the nectar glaze to caramelize (turn brown) will give your grapefruit deep, rich flavor.
