Sage and blue cheese chicken burgers
uncooked boneless skinless chicken breast(s)
fresh unpeeled Gala apple slice(s)
⅓ cup(s), or Fuji, shredded
uncooked red onion(s)
3 tbsp(s), chopped, finely chopped
whole wheat Panko breadcrumbs
1 tbsp(s), finely chopped
hot pepper sauce
¼ cup(s), chopped, or other blue cheese, crumbled
thin whole wheat sandwich bread (roll)
4 item(s), split and toasted
1 small, sliced
4 leaf/leaves, small size, or Bibb lettuce leaves
- Combine chicken, apple, onion, panko, sage, pepper sauce, Worcestershire, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in large bowl. With damp hands, form mixture into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties. Lightly spray patties on both sides with nonstick spray.
- Set nonstick ridged grill pan over medium heat. Place patties on pan and cook until browned and instant-read thermometer inserted into side of burger registers 165°F, 4–5 minutes per side.
- Meanwhile, to make dressing, stir together Gorgonzola, buttermilk, mayonnaise, pepper, and remaining pinch salt in small bowl. Serve burgers in sandwich thins topped with dressing, tomato, and lettuce.
- Serving size: 1 burger and 1 tablespoon dressing
