Nichole lost 49 lbs*

*People following the WW program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds/week. Nichole lost weight on a prior program and is continuing on PersonalPoints™. Watch how Nichole high-kicks to all her goals in the video below.

In Nichole’s words:
I'm a cooking teacher by day and adventure seeker by night (weekends, too!). But my weight used to hold me back. At 34, I was too heavy to ride a zip line, and it was frustrating. To cope, I turned to food — and I needed to change that.

No more comfort zone

Facing a lifelong problem
Weight was always an issue for me, but it really started getting bad during middle school. I figured that was the way I was supposed to be. I’d lose a little weight and then gain it back. The pregnancies made it more difficult. It felt like the older I got, the more difficult it was to lose. The zipline incident was the critical point, though — my weight had become too much.

A winning combination
I started attending WW Workshops and using the WW app. I liked the combination of the two. I have a super busy schedule so I love being able to track and quickly access all of the recipes on my phone. But I also go to Workshops because I need that support group. At first, I was nervous — I was facing a new environment, new people, and a weekly Wellness Check-in. But after about a month, I felt completely comfortable.

Tae kwon do pro
I started taking tae kwon do classes years ago, but I wasn’t really enjoying it. It was really hard on my limbs and knees; when I'd perform the moves, it felt like I was carrying a first grader on my back. Since losing the weight, I’m able to move around much more and my strength has increased. The area where I notice the most improvement is my cardiovascular strength. Before losing the weight, I used to get out of breath very quickly. I can do a whole round of sparring now. My flexibility is also better — I can do a full split!

How Nichole’s success with WW has improved her life

Setting an example
I teach cooking classes for 11-18 year olds. Now, I show them how to make meals like turkey sausage tortellini soup instead of mac ‘n’ cheese. I also talk about portion control — it’s important that the students learn those types of lessons at this age. I always tell them it’s not about being skinny, it’s about being healthy. Instead of going out to eat, you can cook a delicious meal for yourself at home. I've always wanted to be a role model for kids and now I feel like I am!

Nothing holding her back
Running is brand new to me. I always said, “Running? No way, not for me.” But here I am running! I did a 10k trail-run this March. My heart feels so much stronger. I feel like now there isn’t anything on the list that I can’t do.
