Traditional naan is made with a yeast-risen dough and cooked in a tandoor oven. Our quick version uses a dough made of self-rising flour and Greek yogurt and cooks it in a skillet. You end up with tender-chewy flatbreads with those yummy charred “blisters” on the surface. The naan is brushed with garlic butter at the end for an irresistible savory flavor.

Ingredients
Self-rising flour
1 cup(s)
Plain fat free Greek yogurt
0.75 cup(s)
Salted butter
1 Tbsp
Olive oil
1 tsp
Garlic
1 large clove(s)
Fresh parsley
1 Tbsp
Instructions
1
Place the flour and yogurt in a medium bowl; stir well with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula until just combined and then keep mixing the dough in the bowl with your hands until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove the dough from the bowl onto a lightly floured surface; knead for 2 minutes.
2
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then roll into a 7-inch egg-shaped oval on a piece of parchment paper or a lightly floured surface.
3
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 dough pieces to the pan (or 1 piece if the skillet won’t hold 2 in a single layer). Cook until the dough starts to brown on the bottom, charring in spots, 1 to 2 minutes. Turn the dough over and cook 1 to 2 minutes on the other side. Remove from the pan and repeat with the remaining dough pieces.
4
Meanwhile, place the butter, oil, and garlic in a small microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on High until the butter melts, 20 to 30 seconds. Brush the butter mixture over the top of the naan; sprinkle evenly with the parsley.
