Ready in under an hour, these oats are dressed with kale and turkey bacon for a warm and inviting twist on the American classic oatmeal. Instructions

Spray medium saucepan with olive oil nonstick spray and set over medium heat. Add scallions and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 3 minutes.

Add oats, water, and salt to scallion mixture and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15 minutes. Stir in kale and pepper and cook, covered, until oats have softened and most of water is absorbed, about 15 minutes longer.

Divide oat mixture evenly among 4 bowls and sprinkle with bacon.
