Make a delicious Italian-inspired dinner for one in only 20 minutes. This flatbread pizza features a rich tomatoey homemade pizza sauce, the savory creaminess of fresh mozzarella slices and the herby finish of fresh basil. Blending the fresh and canned tomatoes is a genius way to get a deep tomato flavor and the right texture for a pizza topping without having to heat and reduce the sauce. This makes an excellent pre-game appetizer and multiplies easily to suit any size crowd.

Flatbread

Fresh mozzarella cheese

2 oz, sliced

Shredded fat free mozzarella cheese

¼ cup(s)

Canned Italian style stewed tomatoes

1 cup(s), Roma

Tomato

3 large, canned Roma tomatoes

Garlic

1 clove(s), mashed

Dried oregano

1 tsp

Basil

3 leaf/leaves

Crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Place Flatout flatbread on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for two minutes, then remove from the oven.
  3. In a food processor, combine the tomatoes, oregano, garlic, chili flakes until well blended and saucy; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce over the flatbread. Next, arrange the slices of mozzarella over the flatbread, then scatter the shredded mozzarella cheese over everything.
  5. Bake at 375°F for four minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the fresh basil liberally over the entire flatbread. and serve immediately.
