Instructions

1

In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

2

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell peppers to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

3

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Mix well.

4

Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, dried oregano, honey, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

5

Reduce the heat to low and simmer the chili for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

6

Taste and adjust the seasonings if necessary.

7

Serve the chili hot in bowls. Optionally, top each serving with shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and chopped green onions.

8

Serving size: about 1 2/3 cups
