Total time: 20 min • Prep: 10 min • Cook: 10 min • Serves: 1 • Difficulty: Easy

This one-serving, 20-minute main dish is ideal for a busy weeknight when you’re cooking for yourself. Cannellini beans have a wonderfully silky texture and nutty flavor that pairs well with the savory chicken sausage. Substitute spicy sauce for the sweet variety if you’d prefer a little spice in this entrée. Canned beans keep the prep time short and rinsing them cuts their sodium content by 40 percent—a nice payoff for a quick-and-easy step. If you find you have larger broccoli florets, cut them into smaller bite-sized pieces so they cook evenly. Crushed red pepper flakes add a nice hit of heat, but you can amp it up by using ground red pepper instead.
