Modeled after the famous breadsticks from a popular Italian restaurant chain, these soft, fluffy delights are made irresistibly good with a tasty finishing touch: Melted butter is brushed on the warm breadsticks, which are then sprinkled with a combination of garlic powder, salt, and dried oregano. Instead of starting from scratch with a yeast-risen dough, we use convenient refrigerated pizza dough to shave off tons of prep time.

Ingredients

Frozen pizza crust dough

8 oz, thawed, or refrigerated dough

Table salt

¼ tsp

Garlic powder

¼ tsp

Dried oregano

¼ tsp

Unsalted butter

2½ tsp, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces; roll each piece between your palms into a 5- to 6-inch-long rope. Dust your hands lightly with flour if the dough is too sticky. Arrange the dough ropes on the prepared pan. Bake until just barely golden on top, about 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic powder, and oregano. Brush the butter over the warm breadsticks; sprinkle with the salt mixture. Serve warm.
