Founding WW members probably remember “frying” their eggs in Teflon pans with nary a dot of butter, and would probably rather forget all the eggs that stuck to the pan or burned! Today’s more enduring nonstick finishes, plus the removal of butter from the banned list, makes our updated recipe much simpler, tastier, and foolproof. It's still about as quick a meal as you can prepare, ready in no time and perfect on its own with salt and pepper to taste. Or try the egg paired with one of our delectable sauces or salsas for a more dressed up serving of what's been called "the perfect protein."

Ingredients

Unsalted butter

Tbsp

Egg(s)

1 large egg(s)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small nonstick skillet over high heat until bubbling. Break the egg into a small cup or saucer, then slide it gently into the skillet. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook until the white is set and opaque. Serve at once. Yields 1 egg per serving.
