Five-spice powder is a punchy combination of Szechuan peppercorns, star anise, whole cloves, cinnamon, and fennel seeds. To make things easy, use a store-bought mix.

Carrots
1 cup(s)
Fresh ginger
1 piece(s)
Garlic
6 medium clove(s)
Five-spice powder

16 oz

Instructions
1
Combine pork, carrots, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder in 5- or 6-quart slow cooker. Whisk together broth and hoisin sauce in large glass measure; pour over pork and vegetables. Cover and cook until pork is fork-tender, 4–5 hours on High or 8–10 hours on Low.
2
With slotted spoon, transfer pork to medium bowl; cover to keep warm.
3
Whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch in small bowl until smooth. Whisk into slow cooker. Cover and cook until mixture simmers, about 10 minutes on High. Stir in stir-fry vegetables. Cover and cook until vegetables are tender, about 45 minutes. Return pork to slow cooker and cook until heated through, about 10 minutes longer. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds.
