Everyone should have a basic Creole seasoning in their cabinet. Ours is made from a mix of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried herbs. Creole and Cajun food are often confused, or mixed up. Cajun cuisine is more of a mix of French and Southern cuisine, and Creole is a blend of French, African, and Caribbean cuisine, and is often differentiated from Cajun food by the use of tomatoes. But don't limit the use of this flavorful blend to just Creole food! Try punching up flavor by sprinkled on vegetables before they hit the grill, or stir a spoonful into a batch of vegetable soup.
