In this speedy recipe, we’ve stirred a little malted milk powder into a chocolate shake for an old-fashioned ice cream parlor shop favorite you can make right in your own home. We’ve dressed it up with a crunchy pretzel rod garnish to enhance its delicious salty-sweet taste. Malted milk powder is made with barley, powdered milk and wheat flour and is the ingredient that gives chocolate-covered malted candy balls their distinct flavor. Because malted milk powder is toasted, it is somewhat savory which gives this icy treat depth and richness. Look for it near the canned milk at your local supermarket.
