This dish is meant to be eaten with your fingers. Experiment with a variety of lettuces (just be sure they're sturdy enough to hold the filling), roll up the leaves, and enjoy! Just be sure to have some napkins at the ready if you're serving these to a crowd. The savory combination of ground pork and veal really puts this easy, 15-minute recipe over the top. But you can definitely use one or the other if that's all you have on hand. The ground meats nicely complement the onion, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and mung bean sprouts. Top with some toasted sesame seeds right before serving as the finishing touch.

Onion

1 medium, finely chopped

Jarred minced garlic

1 tsp

Uncooked ground pork

½ pound(s)

Uncooked ground veal

1 Tbsp

Mung bean sprouts

2½ cup(s)

Lettuce

8 leaf/leaves, large, large leaves

Sesame seeds

1 Tbsp, toasted

Instructions

  1. Coat a nonstick pan with cooking spray and heat. Cook onion, garlic, pork and veal, stirring, until meat is browned.
  2. Add soy and oyster sauces, stir and reduce heat. Cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in bean sprouts just before serving. Divide meat between lettuce leaves and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Roll lettuce leaves and enjoy.
