Warm Spiced Baked Apples

fresh apple(s)4 medium, baking variety, halved through the stem end, cored
packed brown sugar2 Tbsp
pumpkin pie spice1 tsp
chopped walnuts¼ cup(s), or pecans, toasted
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Place the apples, cut side up, in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice.
- Sprinkle the water in the bottom of the baking dish. Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake the apples until tender when pierced with the tip of a knife, about 25 minutes. Sprinkle the apples evenly with the walnuts. Yields 2 apple halves per serving.
