So many ways to get your fill. Try this in crunchy taco shells with your favorite toppings, or go the burrito bowl route with cauliflower rice and guac. You could also layer the turkey with greens, veggies, and crumbled tortilla chips in a tasty taco salad. As a future time-saver, make a triple batch of the seasoning mix. It keeps for months and tastes just as good on beef and chicken.

Ingredients

Chili powder

1½ Tbsp

Ground cumin

2 tsp

Paprika

1 tsp

Table salt

1 tsp

Dried oregano

½ tsp

Garlic powder

½ tsp

Onion powder

½ tsp

Cayenne pepper

¼ tsp

Uncooked extra lean ground turkey breast

12 oz

Apple cider vinegar

1 Tbsp

Unpacked brown sugar

1½ tsp

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne. Set aside.
  2. In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook the turkey over medium-high heat, breaking up the meat with the back of a spoon, until no longer pink, 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the turkey with the spice mix and add ½ cup water. Reduce heat and simmer until most of the liquid has absorbed, 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the vinegar and sugar and cook until the flavors have blended, 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Serving size: about ½ cup
