Tiny flaxseeds are powerfully good. They’re loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidant-rich lignans, and a healthful dose of fiber—both soluble and insoluble. Keep in mind that flaxseeds need to be ground to work their magic.

Fat free skim milk

Quick-cooking barley

Uncooked bulgur

Uncooked old fashioned rolled oats

Ground flaxseed meal

Ground cinnamon

Combine milk and salt in medium saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until bubbles form around edge of pan. Stir in barley, bulgur, and oats. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until milk is absorbed and grains are tender but still chewy, about 10 minutes.

Remove saucepan from heat; stir in flaxseed meal and cinnamon. Divide cereal evenly among 4 bowls. Top each serving with 3 peach wedges, 1/4 cup raspberries, and 1 teaspoon brown sugar.
