Ingredients

Uncooked 93% lean ground beef

1 pound(s)

Red onion

¼ cup(s), chopped, finely chopped

Teriyaki sauce

2 Tbsp

Table salt

¼ tsp

Black pepper

¼ tsp

Ketchup

½ cup(s)

Sun-dried hot chile pepper

¼ item(s), minced (about 1 tsp), or to taste

Lettuce

4 leaf/leaves, large, Romaine

Tomato

1 large, cut into 8 slices

Instructions

  1. Combine beef, onion, teriyaki sauce, salt, and black pepper in large bowl. Mix well and shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 1 inch thick.
  2. Spray ridged grill pan with nonstick spray and set over medium-high heat. When pan is hot, add burgers and grill until cooked through and instant-read thermometer inserted into side of each patty registers 160°F, 4−5 minutes per side.
  3. Mix ketchup and chile together in small bowl. Serve each burger on lettuce leaf with 2 tomato slices and 2 tablespoons ketchup.
  4. Serving size: 1 burger

Notes

You can also cook these phenomenally tasty burgers on an outdoor grill—just be sure to adjust the cooking time.
