When fresh figs are in season, swap them in if for the dried fruit, if desired.

Ingredients

Water

Uncooked old fashioned rolled oats

½ cup(s)

Sweetened dried fig(s)

2 item(s), quartered

Ground nutmeg

1 pinch(es)

Sliced almonds

1 Tbsp

Part-skim ricotta cheese

1 Tbsp

Honey

½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Bring the water and a pinch of salt to boil in a small saucepan set over medium heat. Stir in the oats. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the water is absorbed and the oats are tender, about 5 minutes. Serve topped with the figs, nutmeg, almonds, ricotta, and honey.
  2. Makes 1 serving (about 3/4 cup of oats plus toppings).
