App Accessibility Features
Light/Dark Mode
Enabling Light/Dark mode can be useful if you prefer to have different contrast enabled for your preferred reading experience within the app.
For iOS users you can enable light/dark mode by following these steps
- Open the “Settings” app on your device
- Tap on “Display & Brightness”
- Under “Appearance”, select Light or Dark
For Android users you can enable light/dark mode by following these steps
- Open the “Settings” app on your Android device
- Scroll down and tap on “Display”
- Look for the Light or Dark options
Dictation (Speech to Text)
Dictation or speech to text empowers you to convert your spoken words into text. This can be utilized within any of our search menus whether it be for food tracking, recipes, or activity tracking. Dictation can also be enabled when creating posts on Connect as well.
For iOS users you can use dictation anywhere the keyboard is accessible. Locate the microphone button on the keyboard which is usually on the bottom right corner of the keyboard screen within the WW app. Tap the microphone button and speak into your device to activate dictation.
For Android users you can use dictation anywhere the keyboard is accessible. Locate the microphone button on the keyboard which is usually in the top right corner of the keyboard. Tap the microphone button and speak into your device to activate dictation.
Custom Font Sizes
The WeightWatchers app is launching a new design system in July that will support users’ custom settings for font sizes on both iOS and Android. This means that if you use a larger font, the app will adjust to support the font size you use.
Screen Readers
WeightWatchers can be used with screen readers that are built into both Android and iOS devices. For Android this is called Talkback, and for iOS this is called VoiceOver. Screen readers enable users with vision-related disabilities to access the content on the screen. We are working to implement headings for a better user experience with the screen reader on both iOS and Android devices.
