Although asparagus originated in the Mediterranean, it is now common in Chinese cuisine.

Ingredients

Vegetable oil

1½ tsp(s)

Ginger root

1 piece(s), cut 1/2-inch thick

Asparagus

1 pound(s), cut into 2-inch pieces

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, minced

Chicken broth

2 tbsp(s), , or water

Oyster sauce

1 tbsp(s)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil over high heat in a skillet. Add ginger and cook until browned. Add asparagus and cook for 30 seconds. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds more.
  2. Add chicken broth and cook 3 to 5 minutes. Add oyster sauce and cook 1 to 2 minutes more. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
