Steak with Tomato Salsa

This festive salsa can be made even more colourful by using a variety of tomatoes — heirloom, yellow, orange, plum and many more.


Ingredients
Cherry tomatoes
1¼ cup(s), or 10 average
Onion
½ medium, red, chopped
Jalapeño pepper
1 medium, minced
Fresh lime juice
1 tbsp(s)
Cilantro
¼ cup(s), chopped
Cooked frozen yellow corn
½ cup(s)
Table salt
¼ tsp(s)
Garlic
2 clove(s), large
Table salt
½ tsp(s)
Cumin seeds
½ tsp(s)
Black pepper
¼ pinch(es)
Uncooked lean trimmed sirloin beef
1 pound(s), cut 1-inch thick
Instructions

Preheat broiler.

Combine tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, lime juice, cilantro, corn and 1/4 teaspoon salt and set aside.

Smash garlic and salt with side of knife to make a paste; add cumin and pepper. Spread over steak.

Broil until medium-rare, 7 minutes per side. Serve topped with salsa.
