The classic combination of steak and Worcestershire sauce gets some Greek flare with a simple feta sauce. Enjoy this hearty sandwich with a healthy salad of chopped romaine and radicchio tossed with thinly sliced red onion, halved cherry tomatoes, red-wine vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredients

Olive oil

1 tbsp(s)

Onion

1 medium, thinly sliced

Bell pepper

1 item(s), medium, red or green variety, cut into thin strips

Table salt

Crumbled feta cheese

½ cup(s)

Garlic

1 clove(s), large, minced

Fresh lemon juice

3 tbsp(s)

Dried oregano

Uncooked lean and trimmed beef flank steak

1 pound(s), thinly sliced

Black pepper

¼ tsp(s)

Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp(s)

Reduced calorie hot dog bun

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in medium skillet over medium high heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and ¼ teaspoon salt and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, 5–7 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, puree feta, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, and 1 teaspoon oil in food processor. Set aside.
  3. Sprinkle steak with remaining ½ teaspoon salt and black pepper.
  4. Heat remaining 1 teaspoon oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and Worcestershire sauce and cook, stirring frequently, until steak is just pink, 2–3 minutes, or to desired degree of doneness.
