Roasting Brussels sprouts tames their slight bitterness. They pair so well with a hint of salt - soy sauce and ham - and a touch of heat – ginger and hot sauce.

Ingredients
Brussels sprouts
1 pound(s), (450 g) medium-size
Olive oil
1 tbsp(s), (15 ml)
Ground ginger
1 tsp(s), (5 ml)
Low sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp(s), (15 ml)
Table salt
¼ tsp(s), (1 ml)
Black pepper
¼ pinch(es), (1 ml) freshly ground
Uncooked Canadian bacon
1 slice(s), (28 g) diced
Sriracha hot sauce
1 tbsp(s), (15 ml)
Instructions
1
Preheat oven 200°C (400°F). Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil or coat pan with cooking spray.
2
Remove any yellow outer leaves from Brussels sprouts; trim ends and slice each one in half.
3
Place Brussels sprouts, oil, ginger, soy sauce, salt and pepper on prepared pan; toss to combine and roast 15 minutes.
4
Remove pan from oven and add ham and sriracha; toss to coat. Roast until Brussels sprouts are just tender when pierced with a knife and bacon is just crispy, about 10 minutes.
