Pumpkin pie, meet morning oatmeal! Steel-cut oats and pumpkin seeds add great texture, and mild honey lends just enough sweetness. For the freshest flavor, grate your own nutmeg.

Green pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
½ cup(s)

In a 4- or 5-qt slow cooker, stir together 6 cups water, pumpkin, oats, honey, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until well mixed. Cover and cook until oats are tender, about 8 hours on Low; stir well.
