Our French fish stew is so flavourful, nobody will ever believe that its base came from a can.

Ingredients

Chicken broth

15 oz

Onion

1 large, chopped

Canned cannellini beans

15 oz, rinsed and drained

Canned diced tomatoes

15 oz, undrained

Dried oregano

¼ tsp(s)

Table salt

½ tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ pinch(es)

Water-packed tuna fish, drained

6 oz, flaked

Fresh basil

¼ cup(s), fresh, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat 1/4 cup of chicken broth in a medium pot. Add onion; sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add beans, tuna, tomatoes and oregano; stir in remaining broth and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper and basil; simmer for 1 minute more. Yields about 1 1/4 cups per serving.
