Your first bite into this crunchy, cheesy pizza will trigger a flood of nostalgia. Simple, family-friendly French bread pizza never goes out of style. We make ours extra delicious by toasting the bread (with garlic powder) before topping it so that it doesn’t get soggy. Make sure to choose soft, grocery-store French bread; baguette is too hearty and chewy for this recipe.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

4 spray(s)

French baguette bread

8 oz, use a soft loaf

Garlic powder

¼ tsp(s)

Jarred fat-free marinara sauce

½ cup(s)

Shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

¾ cup(s)

Turkey pepperoni

16 piece(s)

Fresh parsley

1 tbsp(s), chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the bread in half horizontally, then cut each piece in half crosswise to form 4 pieces. Arrange the bread, cut side up, on the prepared pan. Coat the bread with cooking spray and sprinkle evenly with the garlic powder. Bake until toasted, 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the bread from the oven (keep the oven on). Spread 2 tbsp of marinara sauce over each bread piece; top each with 3 tbsp of cheese and 4 pepperoni slices. Bake until the cheese melts, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the parsley.
  4. Serving size: 1 pizza
