Is there anything that doesn’t automatically become more delicious with a sprinkle of that fairy dust known as Parm? If so, we haven’t found it. Use this same preparation on other veggies like potatoes, asparagus, or zucchini.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

4 spray(s)

Broccoli

1 head(s), (1 to 1 1⁄4 lb)

Table salt

tsp(s)

Black pepper

¼ tsp(s)

Grated Parmesan cheese

¼ cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Coat a large sheet pan with cooking spray.
  2. Trim the broccoli stem to 2 inches from the base of the florets. Starting from the stem end, cut the broccoli head in half lengthwise. Cut each half again lengthwise to make 4 thick slices. Arrange the slices, flat-side down, on the prepared pan. Season with the salt and black pepper. Roast for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the oven. Flip the broccoli steaks over. Sprinkle each broccoli steak with 1 tbsp cheese. Roast until the stems are tender when pierced with a knife, about 10 minutes. Preheat the broiler on High. Broil the broccoli until the cheese is lightly browned, about 1 minute.
