Combine 250 ml (1 cup) water, pinch of salt, and 125 ml (1⁄2 cup) old‐fashioned (rolled) oats in 500‐ml (2‐cup) microwavable bowl.

Microwave on High until water is absorbed and oats are tender, 21⁄2–3 minutes. Stir and let stand 1 minute.
