Serve your burgers with a variety of toppings such as sliced onions, tomatoes, lettuce and mustard.

Ingredients

Dry lentils

6½ oz, about 1 cup, red

Uncooked carrot(s)

½ medium

Uncooked celery

½ stalk(s), medium, stalk, chopped

Uncooked onion(s)

1 medium, chopped

Dried oregano

1 tsp(s)

Dried thyme

½ tsp(s)

Dried plain breadcrumbs

1½ tbsp(s)

Olive oil

1 tsp(s)

Hard roll(s)

6 item(s), cut in half, six 2 oz rolls

Instructions

  1. Combine lentils, water, bouillon cube, carrots, celery, onion, oregano and thyme in a saucepan. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  2. Stir in 1 cup bread crumbs. Shape mixture into 6 patties and sprinkle with remaining bread crumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add patties and cook until browned on both sides. Serve patties on rolls.
