Hearts Salad

This festive salad filled with hearts is the perfect way to say "I love you." For dressing with a different flair, substitute dry sherry for the mirin.


Ingredients
Romaine lettuce
3 cup(s), hearts, torn into bite-size pieces
Uncooked radicchio
½ cup(s), torn into small pieces
Hearts of palm
½ cup(s), sliced 1/2-inch thick
Sesame seeds
1 tsp(s)
Sugar
2 tsp(s)
Table salt
⅛ tsp(s)
Sesame oil
¼ tsp(s)
Vegetable oil
½ tsp(s)
White wine vinegar
2 tbsp(s)
Instructions

On a platter arrange Romaine lettuce. Mound radicchio in a heart shape in the center. Sprinkle hearts of palm over lettuce. Scatter sesame seeds over all.

In a cup stir together sugar, vinegar, mirin, salt, sesame oil and vegetable oil. Toss. Yields 2 cups per serving.
