This Asian-spicedsesame sauce is deliciousdrizzled over grilled asparagus. It’s also super forstirfries.

Ingredients

Low sodium soy sauce

2 tbsp(s), (30 ml)

Rice wine vinegar

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Sesame oil

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Honey

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Minced garlic

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Ginger root

½ tsp(s), (2 ml), fresh, minced

Cooking spray

2 spray(s)

Uncooked asparagus

1 pound(s), (450 g), ends trimmed

Uncooked scallion(s)

1 medium, thinly sliced

Sesame seeds

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, vinegar, oil, honey, garlic and ginger; set aside.
  2. Off heat, coat grill rack with cooking spray; heat to high (or cook on a stovetop grill). Grill asparagus, turning frequently to char all sides, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  3. Place asparagus in a shallow serving dish and pour sauce over top; toss to coat and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Yields 1/6 of asparagus per serving.
