1 medium egg(s), lightly beaten
White self-rising flour
- Preheat oven to 350˚F. Line base and sides of a 19cm x 8cm loaf pan with parchment paper, allowing it to hang over the 2 long sides (this allows for easy removal from the pan).
- Place milk, butter, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and cloves in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook for 2 minutes or until the butter has melted. Remove from heat. Whisk in sugar, honey and egg until combined. Stir in flour until just combined.
- Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Set loaf aside in pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.
