To complement this dish, halve a garlic clove and rub it on toasted slices of Italian bread. Then lightly coat the bread with olive-oil cooking spray.

Ingredients

Uncooked fusilli

8 oz

Uncooked turkey sausage

½ pound(s), casings removed

Chicken broth

1 cup(s)

Canned pimentos

7 oz, drained and chopped

Table salt

½ tsp(s)

Black pepper

pinch(es)

Chopped frozen spinach

10 oz, thawed and squeezed dry

Dried oregano

½ tsp(s), crumbled

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, crumble sausage into a large nonstick skillet. Cook, breaking apart with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add spinach, broth, red peppers, salt, pepper and oregano. Heat to serving temperature, about 3 minutes.
  4. Drain fusilli, add to sausage mixture and toss to combine.
