Store-bought granola is no match for homemade. A batch is easy to whip up, and it’s generally lower in both added fat and sugar. You can double the recipe and store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Ingredients

Uncooked old fashioned oats

1½ cup(s)

Uncooked wheat bran

½ cup(s)

Almonds

¾ cup(s), sliced, slivered

Honey

¼ cup(s)

Ground cinnamon

½ tsp(s)

Table salt

1 pinch(es)

Raisins

cup(s)

Toasted wheat germ

¼ cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread oats and bran on large rimmed baking sheet. Bake, stirring often, until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, stir together almonds, honey, cinnamon, and salt in large bowl. Add oat mixture and stir to combine. Spread mixture on baking sheet and bake, stirring often, until mixture is dark golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer to bowl. Stir in raisins and wheat germ. Let cool completely before storing in airtight container.
  5. Serving size: about 1/3 cup.

Notes

For a filling and healthy breakfast, enjoy the granola with your favorite fresh cut fruit or berries.
