Ingredients

Garlic clove(s)

Water

Apple cider vinegar

1 cup(s)

Kosher salt

1 tbsp(s)

Sugar

2 tsp(s)

Distilled white vinegar

¼ cup(s)

Uncooked string beans

1 pound(s), trimmed (2 cups)

Mustard seed

1 tsp(s)

Peppercorn

1 tsp(s)

Chopped red hot chili peppers

1 tbsp(s), 1 small pepper

Instructions

  1. Set a large saucepan over medium heat. Add all of the brine ingredients and let come to a simmer.
  2. Set out a 1L mason jar with new a lid. Add all of the ingredients for the spicy green beans; set aside.
  3. Top with the brine and seal immediately.
  4. Let come to room temperature and then place in the fridge.
  5. Wait 24-48 hours before consuming.

Notes

Can be stored for up to three weeks in the refrigerator.
